Enrolments

Enrolments for 2011 are now open. The Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy prefers to interview potential students who wish to enrol in a professional course personally, however if it is not convenient to come to the Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy it is possible after phone contact to forward your enrolment form together with the deposit noted for the specific course to Principal of Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy.

Student Identification Cards

Cards are issued to all students who enrol.

Students are required to have a digital photo taken for this purpose. A time will be given for this.

Each student will be given a number which will also be on the card. The number must be used on all examination papers as well as any correspondence which may arise.

Assessments and Examinations

All accredited classes and individual modules require assessments and/or examinations as part of the curriculum. Students are advised of all results and an academic transcript is provided on completion of the course.

Students are advised of the dates for assessments or examinations in advance. If the student becomes ill or cannot attend for personal reasons, alternative arrangements may be made.

Practical Beauty Therapy Classes

In order to learn both facial and body massage techniques students will be required to give as well as receive massage. During these practical sessions student will be required to respectfully disrobe. At all times the students modesty will be maintained.

Text Books and Module Notes

Beauty therapy courses do require the purchase of some textbooks. Some modules use notes only and these are free of charge to the students.

The required text books are listed and are available from the Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy.

Diplomas Certificates and Statements of Attainment

Diplomas certificates and statements of attainment are issued soon after successful completion of a course.

The academic record of the student is issued within four weeks of the completion of the course.

Deferment of Courses

Should a student wish to defer studies the Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy, must be notified in writing clearly outlining the reasons for the deferment. Mostly deferment is granted but it is at the discretion of the Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy.

Late Payment Penalties

Students using Payment Option 3 Pay As You Study – will incur a late payment fee of 10% of the overdue amount if fees are not paid by the date they are due. Should there be serious reasons for non payment, students are advised to contact the principal of the Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy

 

Refunds

Enrolment fees are non-refundable.

The refund policy is fair and equitable.

The refund must be requested in writing to the principal of the Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy.

Where a student discontinues a professional beauty therapy course the refund will be calculated by the number of modules completed and the amount paid by the student. An administration fee of 10% of the amount paid will apply.

Student Assistance

All students are welcomed into a caring environment at Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy. Experienced staff are always available to discuss personal, financial or learning difficulties. The college can arrange for qualified counselling should it be required.

All matters of this nature are treated in the strictest confidence.

Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy regards the privacy of students, clients, and employees vitally important. It is the fundamental right of each person to have their personal information treated with privacy.

Short Courses

Short courses offered at Joan Lawman College of Beauty Therapy include waxing, eyelash tinting, manicures and pedicures, massage and make-up.

There is also an introductory course which covers a number of topics, both practical and theoretical; it is designed for those who enjoy studying for their own self interest, or practising on friends and it may point them towards a professional course.

All short courses allow for students to interact with other class members, take part in face to face learning and enjoy the beauty therapy education experience.
